NSPCC charitable fund raising event 30th June 2011
As usual, we had an amazing mix of wines and people. For a change we had two blind wines, which were a challenge to guess right as one was a rose from Thailand (in a black glass), the second was an unusual red number from Lebanon.
It was great to raise £100 for the NSPCC, in association with their Gatwick Diamond Business Board and have so many new faces attending who will hopefully return for future events.
We also had some great energy drinks supplied by Emma Cuff, from Monavie, again she generously donated some prizes for the charitable raffle and Mark Curtis from split Image one of our profound prize bottle of wine, for best networker and avid wine drinker.
Let's hope 28th July'11 event is just as good or even better!
What happened at Winentwine March 31st 2011
Ian Gray writes...
What a fabulous way to network with people from all forms of business. Over a glass of wine, canapés and plus some entertainment too. Greeted by the young waitress who handed a glass of bubbly or freshly squeezed oranged juice we started mingling. Interupted only by the slights of the close up magic by me, magician Ian.
We were given the introduction by our host form the Lingfield Marriot hotel before Julia went through the selections of wine from around the world capturing a vast array of tastes and texture which she teased us before we were allowed to sample for ourselves.
It was then we entered the world of wine tasting from the selection of red, white and rose. To help us distinguish from the variety we were given an education into the complex procedure of wine making by Paul Rowbotham who owns and works in a French vineyard. Questions and answers were coming from all around the room which just made you want to fill your glass once again before coming to the point when the decision was made as to which bottle was going to be taken home.
I, then entertained everyone with some more dazzling entertaining magic before some more networking and it became apparent that everybody had made friends. From a beginning where strangers entered an elegantly dressed space to place where we had all made friends. Some stayed for a meal laid on by the Marriott hotel while others made a retreat home.
Networking is all about relationships and being in an atmosphere which allows people to mix and Winentwine is that vehicle. See you at the next one.
Marriott Hotel Event 25-Nov-10
Great event at the Marriott Hotel, Lingfield Park yesterday evening 25th November'10. Although very icy everyone had a good time and made afew new contacts.
Lucy Pardoe 'Pardoe Beauty' was able to offer a free mini makeover to Barry at Kate Limbert Solicitors , Lingfield, Surrey - which obviously will be a great gift to keep his wife happy!
And new attendee Chris from Casablanca cafe in East Grinstead won, the very generous gift from the Marriott Hotel, Lingfield of 'overnight night stay' - now he needs to decide who he is taking! ....... Obviously his wife will have first choice!!
We had two very star wines last night - the first most popular super star, was our Spanish red - Marques de Carano Gran Reserva - A beautiful mix of grapes, full and fruity, very popular with guests.
The surprise super star was the Greek - Mavrodaphne - quite sweet and port like - my personal favourite.
Look out for our next stars! Julia Searle
The WinEntwine Experience
Nearly every time we hold events, whether it is the Business Networking or Corporate Entertaining, we are always asked the same question, "What is the best wine out there?"
As you might expect, the answer will be slightly different, but always the same, "It's all a matter of taste." Thats what makes the experience of WINEntwine so special.
Try a multitude of world tasty wines and understand just like your favourite perfume/aftershave, which one really suits your palette.
You might think this is a 'cop out' on our behalf, but the only true way to find out is......To attend our unique events!
